Energy Savings with Skyview Windows
We use Low-e glass and triple grazed window with Superspacer seal to save energy.
We combine low-emissivity glass and energy efficient windows frames can cut down your energy consumption, saving you thousands over the lifetime of the windows.
What is Low-emissivity glass?
Low-emissivity glass (or low-e glass as it is commonly referred to) is a type of energy-efficient glass designed to prevent heat escaping through your windows to the cold outdoors
Heat always flows towards the cold. Therefore, window glass without a low-e coating will absorb the heat from your home and radiate it onto the colder outside surface, where it is lost. Unfortunately, many older double glazed units do not contain low-emissivity glass and are therefore not energy-efficient.
The low-emissivity glass uses metal oxide and silver coating to achieve the best thermal control for your home. In the summer, the outdoor long-wave heat energy is reflected back, while in the winter, the indoor long-wave heat radiated from objects is reflected back into the home to keep the house energy efficient.
Low-e coatings have been developed to minimize the amount of ultraviolet and infrared light that can pass through glass without compromising the amount of visible light that is transmitted.
By replacing your existing window glass with low-e glazing, you can improve the energy efficiency of your home, reduce your monthly bills and decrease the size of your carbon footprint. Skyview Windows can make your home more energy-efficient compared to older double glazing with no low-e coating. Superspacer Seal
Standard windows use a highly conductive metal spacer bar to hold the two panes of glass apart, which sucks heat from inside to the outside. Super Spacer introduces no-metal warm edge technology to windows, helping to deliver windows of the highest standards. Super Spacer is a no-metal, pre-desiccated, structural foam spacer system.
Super Spacer has 100% memory and allows for expansion and contraction, a major cause of fractures in conventional sealed units. In accelerated testing Super Spacer has been shown to last over twice as long as other dual seal systems and five times longer than single seal systems.
All of our windows are Energy Star compliant.
